Original Concept:

Father of one, and married of 11 years. Ex-army soldier that was let off due to his near fatal injuries before The Outbreak. During his time serving the US Military could be described as a Social butterfly, Class Clown, and golden retriever at heart. Was sent back to the States after near fatal injuries on the field and had decided to upgrade himself as a coping mechanism, a way to ensure he couldn’t be so terribly hurt like that again and so he knows he can protect his loved ones for sure this time. Had been upgrading their body so that they could be 80% mechanical and 20% organic. Around the time he met Val he was 50% into the process, and 11 years later at 95% (his heart and brain are the only organic parts about him now and he’s content with that). Was hesitant to take in the kid when his spouse first found them, and was worried he’d fuck it up and ruin them. Over time, he’s proven himself wrong :)

His Past

• Atom is in his first war
• Atom is let off due to his grave injuries, he gets mechanical enhancements to replace what was lost
• Atom is in his second war
• Atom and Val get ‘married’ (they just gave each other rings and got one of The Dead to bind them) on their next reunion
• Atom is near death, survives, gets more enhancements as a temporary fix, is then sidelined until ordered to go home
• Atom coming back from his deployment and ordered to take care of the bugs and flesh eaters infecting and tainting home (USA) with other troops

His Present

• Atom is told of his family and friends’ death
• Val and Atom find a nice spot and make their home/base
• Val finds Ace and wants to raise them, Atom is hesitant but agrees to raise him with her
