Timeline

His Past (~2060)

• Nic and Cov are orphaned and Nic takes up two jobs, Nic spends as much time as he can with Cov
• (Affectionately nicknamed) ’Fing’ fills in for Nic when he can’t be there for Cov. Nic has no clue this is happening
• Fing has to leave for their warrior training, Cov starts 4th grade, Fing officially leaves Cov

MiddleSchool Cov: After Kuro left, Cov started making human friends and living an okay school-social life

• Nathan (Cov’s school bestie) introduction
• Fing is given a proper name as celebration for completing warrior training (KuroGuro, Kuro or Guro for short)
• Nic picks up another job and meets his new coworker (AJ)
• Cov is getting bullied at school and a lot of insults and harassment is toward Nic, Cov gets into a lot of fights

HighSchool Cov: From time to time, Cov would spiral in not knowing if Fing was real or not, Cov experiments with drugs

• Cov makes a bucket list of drugs he wants to try, and because drugs are both easier and harder to come by he’s able to try a good handful of the hard stuff, and by the time he’s nearing graduation he’s done most/all of his list and starts doing the easier/baby drugs like cigs and weed
• Kuro comes back into Cov’s life during senior year, offering a proposal to be bound together by The Dead, but easily unbound if Cov decides they shouldnt be bf5ever
• Cov agrees and this is when he gets the tattoos and power that come with the binding spell
• After The Facility Outbreaks, Nic and Cov get separated, Cov believing Nic died, and Kuro in denial that he’s dead

His Present (2080)

• With Kuro and their power, Cov fights to find his brother and prove to himself that he’s not dead
• They both get stronger, older, and more skilled in their search for Nic

His Future

• He dies in battle or from old age
• path 1- Kuro dies with Cov as the contract is life binding, and they both explore Death’s Home together
• path 2- Cov cuts Kuro out of the contract as a last minute split decision, dying alone, and leaving Kuro alive to live in his stead. Kuro lives a long warrior life, and Cov explores Death’s Home alone, but Kuro summons Cov every once in a while to catch up

Kuro and Cov Binding Spell Info

After the deal is made Kuro can control Cov’s body, can only detach themself as far as Cov’s shadow is (if its sunset and cov is sitting under a really big tree, Kuro can only move around under the shade of the tree since the shadows overlap), and in return Cov can use Kuro’s magic

The trade off here is Kuro’s independent mobility and Cov having to share/be a passenger to his own body

Fun Facts

• Cov was based off of my animal crossing character with the mask (real ones will remember), then i wanted him to have shoulder length hair and yoinked Yuri Briar’s bangs. Then the older Cov got the more he’d look like his brother, so to differentiate the two Cov’s hair would get wilder and Nic’s is a bit more tame
• The yellow jacket was originally supposed to combat the fact that all my characters wear dark colors/black clothes
• Eventually, from one of my classes I learned about The Yellow Kid and thought itd be cute if only the viewer, not the characters, could see Cov’s thoughts- since he doesnt talk much anyway
• Cov’s eyes aren’t naturally orange, they only turn that color after the binding. When his sclera (white part of the eyeball) turns black, that means Kuro has full control of the body
• I actually don’t know what color Cov’s hair is. White fits best for his palette but is it dyed white? is it natural? Did it turn white after the binding spell? no clue
