Shadow Clan/Tribe Classes

theres a good mix of all three in most clans

example characters:

• profession: assassin

         shadow people born into the profession are usually best suited for the job, for example, B
         Usually a blob of black mass, a literal shadow person

• profession: warrior

        shadow people born into the profession are usually best suited for the job, for example, Kuro
        Usually abnormally tall, thick, big, and strong. Identifiable by masks or a big crawling or walking creature of shadow/black mass

• profession: shinobi (best suited for the job: shadow user)

         shadow users are best suited for the job, for example, Val (hybrid)
         Humanoid or a hybrid that uses shadow magic (shaping liquid shadow into shapes, weapons, or a congealment to sharpen or add more strength to their weapons). usually not detectable unless you touch them (a little lower than normal temperature) or see them use their powers. Another assassin type, just more infiltration/spy-like than assassin.


For both ShadowPeople and ShadowUsers

• (ALL) the night is perfect cover, and all shadow people and users work best at night because theres so many places to hide in and use to their advantage. they have more energy to pull from when theres more shadows.
• shadow people dont have sweat glands nor hair, and shadow users obviously do, but their smell is barely noticeable
• and unless youre a warrior class that frequently fights and comes back home smelling like rotting flesh and dried or fresh blood, or a shadow person/user that hides in or simply wears “regular clothes” that have that smell of like… soap and grass, these guys dont really smell
• shadow people dont have Normal Organs, they have like.. organs made for magic regulation that channel their spells/essence and keep the essence constantly moving around their form
• a common spell the assassin class use is where they wrap their essance around themselves to muffle all sound they’d create. for shadowpeople they dont really need this technique since it helps that their natural liquid state doesnt make sound, unless theyre wearing shoes or something.  but its a helpful spell for shadowusers or shadowpeople with a defect

Warriors (W), Assassins (A), Shinobi (S) Differences

W

• warrior born shadow people are naturally more resilient and have higher tolerance during the day and sunny weather, they don’t really need the shadows and dont depend on it as heavily because theyre more focused on combat, not stealth (a big reason they wear masks is bcs they just dgaf about being seen)
• they can get really big and are sometimes hired as body guards/“guard dogs”
• yeah you can get trapped and held in place. full body entrapment can only work if that shadow person has enough mass to fully cover and restrain you at the same time
• the grown ups in the warrior class dont blend into the shadows at all tho, their entire being is kinda just black/grey glooby glob made for fighting
• Fing is a beautiful example of the warrior class that has had proper training with natural prowess in strength and defensive capabilities

• as a warrior class, doesn’t need to hide or worry about stealth, if the white mask with markings on it and the always visible form doesn’t tell you that already. theyre trained in close combat and overwhelming the enemy and growing enough healthy mass. they can make a wide variety of weapons with their mass and if weakened, can pull shadow mass from nearby shade and areas of darkness to end the fight as fast as possible. more experienced and skilled of this class can create mini versions of themselves to guard themselves while they sleep or scout areas, or get into smaller areas their natural mass can’t squeeze through, things like that
• warrior class can get pretty big, but the max biggest without magic organ failure or constant exposure to the sun would be to stretch and lay close to ground, and expand themselves horizontally. the biggest to date is a clan leader that spanned the size of a European country
  so imagine like the entirety of Ireland but without the architecture and people and theres black goop for a ground and black mist coming from the goop, congrats you just found an entire country size shadow person just chillin
  shadow people and users lived On this clan leader too, until people found them and did a mass burning :)

A

• shadow people are more attune to stealth and will have a better chance of dodging and getting away from the danger within the shadows, while warriors face the danger head on and use their magic to their advantage
• if stuck in a desert, assuming its daytime, theyd become incredibly weak, cant mold into anything, and kinda just sit there in a puddle, creating their on shadow, and wait for evening time. the smartest move for them if stranded like that is to maintain their lifeline and wait until help arrives or an object or person with a shadow appears
• regularly, when its daytime theyre much weaker, especially so exposed, they stick out, so some of them if they have relations somewhere else, they dress up in regular clothes and use their energy for that morning-evening maintaining their form. thats what B is doing sometimes when he wears regular clothes
• if you stick your hand in a shadow that just so happens to have a shadow being in there and they don’t move away fast enough, youd feel cold or warm (depends on the room temperature or the temp outside) slimey goop
• if you touched a shadow person and theyve got a form/figure up and going already, it’ll feel like any other flesh and bone person but lacking normal human heat. unless of course they purposefully or accidentally liquify it or make it feel like jello
• and i guess if theyre incredibly weak and in a puddle’d state theyd be like a slime video
• B can use the darkness and shadows as cover and hiding places, uses his own matter to create blades and traps for stealth kills and uses his smoke to confuse or disorient the enemy.  If they have enough mass, an assassin class can entrap you, hold you down/still to make the final blow but thats dependent on that shadow person’s stamina, mass, and strength

S

• val can use shadow manipulation, but its goopy and really hard to concentrate with
• Normally shadow users are more well trained and enhance their weapons with the goop or use it as gas to escape or distract/confuse the enemy

ShadowPeople Culture (both assassin and warrior)

• warriors are the proud, taught to be the tanks, spear, shield, and decoy. they are the preferred to be the class to guard the clan’s territory
• assassins are trained and taught to be silent killers
• their culture and nature is different. once a blob the caregiver leads the bby to meld into the shadows to “surround them” to instill that the shadows are your safety and to trust it as you would a loved one ^^
• yeah he eats, not recquired but it does taste good and its fun to try new things
• energy from the shadows is like using electricity to power a light
• ShadowPeople have a magical genetic boost thats passed down. they start training a while after birth to create and maintain a solid form, and do all typsa ninja training with it.
• shadow people do technically age, as theres baby goops and full grown warriors. The clan leaders would be the oldest and the biggest in density and liquid mass. a good way of telling how old a shadowperson is by  gauging their emotional maturity and how much liquid mass they have

• it must be pretty jarring to walk into a village and it be almost completely quiet, no footsteps, no clothes rustling, just the whispers of the people in their native tongue and the presence of people behind and in front of you to help not freak you out but be aware you were in public
• some ShadowPeople would find it a little strange to hear footsteps crushing leaves and displace pebbles as g and erin would walk. worrying that they dont hide themselves in a wall’s shadow at the first sign of danger/being spotted
• shadowpeople can manipulate their form/mass into anything as long as they have enough mass for it and depending on their training, how long they can maintain it
  shadowpeople use shadows as long, a cooldown spot, but can only manipulate their own mass. thats why training is so important, the more mass you have and can maintain the more/better the tools to aid you in surviving and protecting those you love

Shadow User Culture (shinobi)

S

• shinobi teach infiltration and teach/raise spies that sabotage from within
• shadow users normally have a magic artery and some veins that convert the magic to be used through their limbs
• shadow users are considered half breeds of shadow person and whatever other species/organism
• its a dominant gene, the only time itd be recessive is if you were ¾ths something else and ¼th shadow, at that point youd probably only have really good nightvision

Things that kill/harm shadow people/users

• powerful magic
• fire kills everything
• poisons
• weaken them with a ton of light and burn them
• if one of em cant swim they can drown (they can drown in the ocean. pools and rivers are fine, but depending on how much mass they have theyll sink and be crushed/squished/magic organs will clogg and kill them the farther they go)
• suffocation from lack of oxygen (stuffing them in a jar too small or in a room without any ventilation, etc)
  
  

not to mention the clans and tribes that are light manipulation based

Loose Information

• Each clan had their own geisha but during these times magic was more of an open secret (EarlyPast). So most members (including geisha) would disguise themselves for the general public (modern day)
